Ryanair Announces New Operating Base at Palma Airport14th December 2011Ryanair have announced that they will be making Palma Airport in Majorca its 49th operating base from March 2012. Ryanair already operate 30 routes at Palma Airport, but will be adding a further 17 new routes including Cork, Malaga, Paris and Stockholm. Ryanair have recently cut the number of flights at other airports in Spain including Alicante and Girona, so this is a big boost for tourism in the Balearics.
The new base is expected to create up to 2,800 jobs and bring nearly 3 million extra visitors to the island each year.
